Hello everybody!

It's not a secret for anyone what Wikipedia is and how it works. Of course, this is incredibly useful and perhaps the most popular service created on the wiki. But do you guess how you can use wiki services (not only Wikipedia) for educational purposes? Today I'm going to look at examples of such services and try to understand how it can be useful for us.

First of all, what is WIKI?

Wiki is a web technology used for collaborative publishing on the web. Wiki is a type of server software that allows you to work with data on a remote server on the Web. Users interact with the software through a web interface that lets them read, edit and publish content.

At the moment, wikis are actively used in education and there are a significant number of such resources. Now we will look at some of them in more detail.

	WIKISPACES
	I find Wikispaces to be the best among those services that are offered for training on the wiki platform. It not only offers a wide range of opportunities for teamwork, but it is also very simple to use. Wikispaces Classroom gives us the features we need to get our classroom organized. I believe that this service is very convenient for the organization of work outside the traditional classroom. Many other useful functions are also proposed in the training, such as project-based learning.	The service is free.  Easy to use. Wide range of functions. Safe Social Networking. Online and Remote Learning. Tools for teamwork.

	WIKIDOT
	Wikidot.com has been providing collaborative Wikis since 2006. During the time a lot of users found many benefits of using that service. Wikidt does not have a targeted focus on learning as Wikispaces, but an excellent wiki-based platform for working with files.	Paid service. Easy to use. Powerful Wiki syntax and engine. Control over ads. Unlimited number of pages.

	TEFLPEDIA
	Teflpedia is a wiki dedicated to everything associated with teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) or second language (TESL). Our objective is to become a major user-generated resource for English teachers from all over the world. I consider it very useful service, which could contain all the material necessary for teachers of the English language. Incredibly successful choice for such a wiki platform service. Any teacher can share his resources with others. As an information space, this site is necessary for teachers.	The service is free.  Easy to use. Many useful materials. Tools for teamwork.
